Hyderabad police book YouTuber Anvesh over offensive remarks
HYDERABAD: Police have registered a case against YouTuber Anvesh following a complaint by film actor Karate Kalyani, who alleged that he made controversial remarks on social media and circulated objectionable content.
Based on her complaint, police said a case was booked against Anvesh for allegedly sharing videos that hurt sentiments.
Earlier case in Khammam
Police said Anvesh is already facing a similar case at Khanapuram Haveli police station in Khammam district.
Inspector Bhanu Prakash said Anvesh, a native of Visakhapatnam, runs a YouTube channel while staying abroad. In a recent video, he allegedly made obscene remarks about Sita and Draupadi, who are worshipped by Hindus, hurting religious sentiments.
Complaint and inquiry
The inspector said G Satyanarayana Rao of Danavaigudem lodged a complaint on Sunday night. A case has been registered and an inquiry is under way.
