Hyderabad Police Arrest Three With 72g MDMA
HYDERABAD: Hyderabad City Crime Station (CCS) and Abids police arrested three people for possessing the banned narcotic drug MDMA and attempting to sell it in the city.
Acting on credible information received on March 4, 2026, a special CCS crime team and Abids police conducted a joint raid and detained the accused near the BJR statue at Bashirbagh.

Police identified the accused as Jog Singh, 25, a businessman from Vinayak Nagar, Jeedimetla, originally from Nagaur district in Rajasthan; Chunaram Choudhary, 27, a footwear trader from Chattabazar living in Ashok Bazaar, Afzalgunj, originally from Jalore district in Rajasthan; and Amrit Purohit, 32, an optical supplies trader living in Kukatpally, originally from Jalore district in Rajasthan.
Police seized 72 grams of MDMA (methamphetamine) and four mobile phones from their possession.
Accused planned to sell MDMA near Bashirbagh statue
According to police, the accused had gathered information on potential buyers in Hyderabad and reached the Bashirbagh area to sell the synthetic drug.
MDMA is typically available in powder or crystal form. Police said consumption can lead to serious health issues such as increased heart rate, high body temperature and jaw muscle stiffness.
Investigators said the accused planned to sell the drug for ₹6,000 to ₹8,000 per gram to earn large profits.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detective Department) S Chaitanya Kumar and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Special Crime Team) G Venkateswara Reddy. Inspector D Bhikshapati and Abids police participated in the raid.
Police said action will be taken against those involved in the use, sale, transport or storage of narcotic drugs under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Officials urged the public to stay away from drugs and report any related activities to the police.
