Hyderabad: A group of rowdy sheeters was arrested in Brindavan Colony, Gandipet after they allegedly attacked police officers investigating a missing person’s case.

The incident occurred when police arrived at the colony to look into the disappearance of MRPS leader Narender and his friend Praveen.

The reports allege that the officers encountered the rowdy gang upon reaching the location, a valuable piece of land estimated at Rs. 25 crores.

When questioned about their presence at the property, the group reportedly turned hostile, threatening the police with knives and hockey sticks. They even attempted to unleash bulldogs on the officers.

Fearing for their safety, the police called for backup. Seeing the reinforcements arrive, the rowdy gang fled the scene. However, officers managed to apprehend four individuals.

The accused individuals have been identified as Ahmed Khan, Sheikh Hamdan, Mohammed Jaffer, and Hamad Masood.

The arrested men are known rowdy sheeters and have been booked under 132 Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). They were produced before the Rajendranagar Upparpally Court and remanded to judicial custody for seven days.

The investigation into the case of missing persons is ongoing.

It was learned that recently, in a similar incident, Hyderabad police arrested two pickpocketing individuals who assaulted police officers during a decoy operation early Friday morning.

On the night of July 11th, around 12:10 am, the decoy team spotted two individuals acting suspiciously. Upon questioning them, one of the suspects attempted to attack the officers with an axe concealed under his shirt while the other threw stones. Despite warnings to surrender and drop their weapons, the assailants continued to act aggressively.

In self-defense, the ARPC fired a single shot at the individual wielding the axe, injuring him in the right thigh. The injured suspect has been identified as 19-year-old Raju, Son of Dhanraj, a resident of Mallepally, who was immediately transported to Osmania General Hospital (OGH) for treatment.

Acting on information provided by Raju, the local police team swiftly apprehended the second absconding suspect, 19-year-old Mohd Khaja alias Ayaan, a resident of Habeebnagar.
