Hyderabad Police Launch ‘A Day with CP’ for Students

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Police has launched a 45-day outreach initiative, ‘A Day with CP’, to familiarise school students with policing and encourage civic responsibility.
The programme began on April 1. On the first day, meritorious students from Classes 8 to 10 of government high schools took part. They interacted with Hyderabad Commissioner of Police V.C. Sajjanar and observed police work closely.
Daily exposure to police work and field operations
Under the initiative, officials will select 20 students each day, including 10 boys and 10 girls. They will spend time with the police from 10.00 to 18.00 IST. During this period, they will observe field operations and administrative processes.
Officials said the programme aims to give students firsthand exposure to policing. It also seeks to reduce the gap between citizens and law enforcement. Moreover, it promotes respect for the law among young people.
Students tour high-tech policing facilities across city
The inaugural session took place at the CCS Office in Bashirbagh. Students from Mangalhat Government School attended the session. They watched a video conference led by the Commissioner on security arrangements for the upcoming ‘Sri Veera Hanuman Vijaya Yatra’.
After that, the students toured key police units across the city. These included the Integrated Command Control Centre in Banjara Hills, Cyber Crime Wing, IT Cell, SHE Teams, Special Branch, and the main Police Control Room and CAR headquarters.
Senior officers explained how technology helps prevent crime. They also highlighted the role of specialised units in ensuring women’s safety. In addition, they discussed the challenges involved in maintaining law and order.
Initiative focuses on building trust and social responsibility
Speaking at the launch, V.C. Sajjanar said the police force serves the public and focuses on safety, not just crime control. He added that the initiative aims to build social responsibility and respect for the law among children from a young age.
