Crashed car and goods vehicle causing traffic jam on Hyderabad Outer Ring Road near Narsingi

HYDERABAD: One person dies and three others suffer severe injuries after a car crashes into a DCM goods vehicle on the Outer Ring Road near the Narsingi police academy limits on Sunday.

According to police, the car is travelling from Shamshabad airport towards Gachibowli when it hits the vehicle moving ahead. The force of the collision leaves one occupant dead on the spot.

The injured passengers sustain serious injuries and are shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their condition is reported to be critical, police said.

The accident leads to heavy congestion on the busy expressway stretch during peak movement hours. Vehicles remain stranded in two lanes for several kilometres as motorists wait for clearance.

Outer Ring Road maintenance staff rush to the spot and begin rescue and restoration work. A crane is deployed to remove the damaged car and goods vehicle that block the carriageway.

Police regulate traffic and divert vehicles to ease the backlog. Commuters travelling towards Gachibowli face long delays before movement gradually returns to normal.

Preliminary inquiry suggests overspeeding may have led to the crash. “We have registered a case and are examining the circumstances that resulted in the accident,” a Narsingi police official said.

Authorities advise motorists to follow speed limits and exercise caution while driving on high-speed corridors such as the Outer Ring Road.
