Two killed as speeding container truck crashes into parked car on Hyderabad ORR
HYDERABAD: Two people died when a speeding container truck rammed into a parked car on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Shamirpet on Monday afternoon.
The accident happened near Exit-7 on the ORR, under the Shamirpet police station limits. An Audi car traveling from Medchal towards Shamirpet had stopped by the roadside. Some occupants had stepped out and were standing behind the vehicle, eating.
At that moment, a container truck lost control and crashed into the stationary car.
Two men, believed to be residents of Moula Ali, suffered severe bleeding injuries from the impact and died on the spot.
Shamirpet police rushed to the scene after receiving information and began investigating.
A preliminary inquiry suggests that overspeeding and suspected drunken driving by the container driver may have caused the accident.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage from cameras at the accident site and nearby roads to understand the sequence of events.
They have registered a case. Authorities shifted the bodies to a hospital for autopsy, and further investigation is underway.
