Private employee arrested for 200 kmph stunt drive on Hyderabad ORR

HYDERABAD: A 32-year-old private employee from Puppalaguda was arrested by Narsingi police for allegedly driving his newly purchased Volkswagen Virtus at more than 200 kmph on Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road (ORR) and uploading videos of the stunt on Instagram.

According to Cyberabad Police, the accused recorded himself driving at excessive speed on the ORR stretch between the Narsingi and TGPA toll plazas. The videos were allegedly uploaded on Instagram under the name “Yashwanth Reddy”.

Police said the accused’s actions endangered fellow commuters as well as toll plaza staff, posing a serious threat to public safety.

A case has been registered under Sections 125 and 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The vehicle used in the stunt has been seized.

Cyberabad Police issue warning against stunt driving

Cyberabad Police said rash driving, dangerous stunts and the promotion of such acts on social media would attract strict legal action.

Officials warned that reckless driving on public roads not only violates the law but also puts the lives of road users and road infrastructure personnel at risk.
