Hyderabad ‘One Ticket’ to cover RTC, Metro, MMTS

HYDERABAD: Travel across the city by bus, metro or suburban rail using just one ticket. The Telangana government is preparing to introduce the ‘Hyderabad One’ combination ticket, which will allow passengers to use Telangana State Road Transport Corporation buses, Hyderabad Metro Rail services and MMTS with a single fare instrument.
Officials of HAML, an arm of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority, said tenders will soon be invited through a Request for Proposal (RFP) to roll out the system. The aim is to provide seamless, end-to-end connectivity and reduce dependence on private transport.
It is yet to be decided whether the Hyderabad One ticket will be launched as a physical smart ticket or through a dedicated mobile application, officials said.
At a recent review meeting, officials proposed city bus connectivity to all 51 MMTS stations. While interchange facilities exist at several locations to switch from metro to city buses, the absence of a common ticket has limited multi-modal travel. Passengers are often forced to rely on a single mode of transport, affecting last-mile connectivity.
Officials believe that introducing a unified combination ticket and strengthening links between different public transport services will significantly improve commuter convenience and overall urban mobility.
