HYDERABAD: Police arrested a man for allegedly fleeing with a scooter during a test ride after contacting the owner through an OLX listing in Gajularamaram.

The incident occurred at Vallabhai Residency Apartments, where the complainant, B Sadgun, had listed his Honda Activa for sale. A prospective buyer approached him, sought a test ride, and escaped with the vehicle.

Based on the complaint, Jagadgirigutta police station registered a case and launched an investigation. The accused was identified as Appari Vishwa Phanindra and taken into custody.

Accused confessed to targeting OLX sellers with accomplice

During questioning, police said the accused revealed he acted along with an associate, Ongole Ramesh. The duo allegedly targeted online sellers, took vehicles on the pretext of test rides, and later resold them.

Police recovered the stolen scooter from the accused.

Search on to nab absconding second suspect

Efforts are under way to trace and arrest the second accused, who is on the run. Police said further investigation is in progress.
