NEET-PG candidates, don’t take these Hyderabad routes on Sunday
HYDERABAD: Candidates appearing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET-PG) on August 30 should avoid major roads in west Hyderabad as the 15th edition of the NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2026 will take place on the same day.
The marathon will run from 5 am to 11.30 am on Sunday and cover several roads under the Cyberabad Commissionerate.
According to the Cyberabad Traffic Police advisory, the main route will cover Cable Bridge, ITC Kohinoor, Knowledge City Gate No. 8, My Home Abhra, C Gate Junction, IKEA (Mind Space Rotary), Transco, NCB/Biodiversity Junction, Pista House, South India Shopping Mall, Gachibowli Flyover, Indira Nagar, IIIT Junction and Gachibowli Stadium.
The runners will then enter the University of Hyderabad campus through Gate No. 2. They will exit through the same gate and return towards Gachibowli Stadium. The University of Hyderabad is located on Prof. C.R. Rao Road.
10K run to merge with marathon route near IKEA
The 10K run will start at HITEX in Madhapur and pass through the NAC Main Gate, Khanamet Junction, Metal Charminar Junction, Tech Mahindra, Lemon Tree Hotel, Raidurg Metro Station and the IKEA underpass.
The 10K route will merge with the main marathon route near IKEA.
Traffic police identify key stretches
The traffic police have advised NEET-PG candidates to avoid two stretches during the marathon.
The first covers Cable Bridge–ITC Kohinoor–My Home Abhra–IKEA (Mind Space Rotary)–NCB Junction–Gachibowli Flyover–Indira Nagar–IIIT Junction–Gachibowli Stadium–University of Hyderabad Gate No. 2.
The second covers NAC Main Gate–Metal Charminar–Tech Mahindra–Lemon Tree Hotel–Raidurg Metro Station–IKEA underpass.
Candidates advised to leave early
The traffic police have asked NEET-PG candidates to plan their journeys well in advance. Candidates should leave early and use alternative routes to avoid congestion and reach their examination centres on time.
The Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Cyberabad, issued the advisory.
The traffic police also wished the candidates success and urged them to remain calm and confident during the examination.
