HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Police and Disaster Response teams launched rescue and containment operations after a fire broke out at a furniture shop in Nampally on Wednesday, triggering traffic congestion in the busy commercial area.

Police officials said fire services were alerted immediately after flames were noticed in the shop premises. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot, and personnel cordoned off the surrounding area as a precautionary measure.

Traffic movement hit in busy commercial zone

Traffic movement on roads leading to the shop was severely disrupted as emergency vehicles were deployed and safety measures put in place. Commuters were advised to take alternate routes to avoid delays.

Authorities also issued an advisory asking visitors to postpone their visit to the nearby exhibition venue for the day, citing congestion and safety concerns.

Firefighting efforts continue

Officials said firefighting operations were continuing to prevent the blaze from spreading to adjacent buildings. The cause of the fire and details of losses, if any, will be assessed after the operation is completed.
