Hyderabad Murder Case A Woman, Lover Kill Mother

Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a woman and her boyfriend allegedly murdered her mother and elder sister in Hyderabad’s Jawaharnagar and Lalaguda as they were opposed to her love affair.

Following a complaint, the police arrested the accused woman, identified as 40-year-old Lakshmi, while her 45-year-old boyfriend is on the run.

According to Lalaguda police, the deceased woman, Susheela had three daughters, 45-year-old Gnaneswari, Lakshmi and 35-year-old Uma Maheshwari and a 37-year-old son Shiva and none of them were married.

Gnaneswari suffers from mental health issues and Uma Maheshwari works at a call centre in Lal Bazar, while the son, Shiva moved to the US. Following the demise of Susheela’s husband, Lakshmi secured her father’s Railways job on compassionate grounds, the police said.

The incident occurred on February 4, 2025 when accused persons murdered elder sister Gnaneswari in Lalaguda and then they allegedly killed Lakshmi’s mother Susheela in Jawaharnagar.

Earlier, Susheela’s family was residing in the Railways quarters in Lalaguda. In 2018, they built a house in Bharat Nagar and Suseela and Umamaheswari moved there, while Lakshmi stayed back at their old residence with her sister Gnaneswari due to her job at the railway workshop in Lalaguda.

Arvind Kumar, a builder from Sainikpuri was known to Susheela’s family since 2010. He had helped Susheela build their house in Bharat Nagar. Subsequently, Lakshmi developed a closer relationship with him. Over time, this relationship turned into a physical affair. When Lakshmi’s family members discovered this, they demanded that she stop meeting him.

On the evening of February 6, Arvind visited Susheela’s house. Susheela warned him against meeting her daughter again. During an altercation, Arvind hit her head with some object which resulted in severe head injury and she died on the spot and fled the premises.

Later, Uma Maheshwari found her mother lying in a pool of blood. She immediately alerted the police and CCTV footage showed Arvind jumping over the compound wall to escape after committing the crime.

During an initial probe, Lakshmi admitted that she and Arvind also killed her elder sister Gnaneswari as she was opposed to their relationship. She also revealed that they disposed of her body in a water sump. Lalaguda police recovered the decomposed body from the water sump and arrested Lakshmi. Meanwhile, the police have launched a manhunt to nab Arvind.
