Hyderabad citizens demand updated contact information on municipality websites

Hyderabad: The citizens across Hyderabad are voicing their frustration over outdated contact details and incomplete staff information on the Ameenpur, Narsingi, and Bandlaguda Jagir Municipality websites. This issue has left residents unable to effectively communicate civic concerns, prompting calls for action from the Commissioner & Director of Municipal Administration (CDMA) and the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) of Telangana.
Koushik, a concerned resident, took to ‘X,’ previously known as Twitter and tagged relevant officials, urging them to address the issue. “Sir, can you please instruct the website team to update the contact details of staff and Municipal Commissioners of Ameenpur, Narsingi, Bandlaguda Jagir, etc.? There are discrepancies in the ‘contact us’ information on the websites,” he tweeted.

While speaking to Hyderabad Mail, Koushik highlighted the difficulties faced when attempting to report civic issues such as road sweeping, drainage overflow, and encroachments. “Upon visiting the municipal corporation websites and the Citizen Buddy app, I found insufficient ‘know your person’ details,” he stated. “The staff directories were either outdated or completely empty.”
Koushik further pointed out discrepancies in the names of municipal commissioners and emphasized the inconvenience caused by the lack of accessible information. “Just last week, I encountered a life-threatening civic issue and struggled to find the appropriate contact person. Eventually, after contacting the Municipal Corporation Narsingi office, I received some support,” he added.
Expressing concern for fellow citizens, Koushik urged authorities to ensure website information is current and accessible. “This recurring issue must be addressed promptly,” he stressed. “I have escalated my concerns to the CDMA and advocate for transparent and updated municipal websites, allowing citizens to contribute to a cleaner city.”
The demand for updated contact details and a functional communication channel with municipal authorities remains a critical issue for Hyderabad’s residents, who seek efficient solutions to their civic concerns.
