Hyderabad MP secures second highest votes, Malkajgiri leads in NOTA
Hyderabad: In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections in Telangana state, Asaduddin Owaisi from All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen(AIMIM) received the second highest number of votes which is a whooping 6,61,981 votes. The data was compared among the overall 17 parliamentary constituencies in the state and revealed by a Hyderabad based think tank, Forum for Good Governance(FGG). Forum for Good Governance analyzed the data from the affidavits furnished by the candidate from various political parties who are in fray in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.
Meanwhile R Raghuram Reddy from the Indian National Congress(INC) who contested as MP candidate from Khammam stood first with the highest percentage of votes and secured over seven lakh votes.
Asaduddin Owaisi from All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen(AIMIM) emerged victorious with a majority of three lakh votes 3,38,087 over his nearest rival Madhavi Latha Kompella from the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP). Owaisi is going to serve as Hyderabad MP for the fifth time consecutively. Owaisi garnered a total of 6,61,981 votes, while Madhavi Latha secured a total of 3,23,894 votes.
Malkajgiri tops in NOTA votes
According to the Forum for Good Governance(FGG), Malkajgiri parliamentary segment got the highest number of NOTA (None of the above) votes polled in the constituency with 13,366 votes. Here, Eatala Rajender, from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged victorious against his rivals.
Eatala Rajender won the seat with a majority of 3,91,475 votes against his nearest rival Patnam Suneetha Mahender Reddy from the Indian national congress(INC) who secured 5,99,567 votes. Rajender has garnered a total of 9,91,042 votes and secured victory.
Further second highest votes of NOTA were polled in Adilabad Lok Sabha constituency where Godam Nagesh from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won.
