Hyderabad faces mosquito surge, KTR criticises governance

HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader K. T. Rama Rao on Tuesday criticised the civic administration over the growing mosquito menace in Hyderabad, alleging a failure in basic public health measures.
He said there was no proper fogging being carried out, leading to a surge in mosquito population and causing viral fevers among residents.

Rama Rao remarked that the situation had worsened to the extent that areas in the city could be renamed after mosquitoes, citing examples such as “Domalaguda, Domalahills, Domalabad, Domalapool and Domalagutta”.
He said the unchecked spread of mosquitoes reflected gaps in municipal services.
