Telangana government clears ₹530 crore Miyapur flyover
HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has granted administrative approval for a new flyover between Allwyn Colony and Miyapur to ease traffic congestion in the northwestern parts of the city.
The six-lane flyover will be built over Anjaiah Nagar at an estimated cost of ₹530 crore. Officials said the structure will be 1.8 km long and 24 metres wide.
Major corridor to ease congestion
Of the total project cost, ₹330 crore has been allocated for construction works, while ₹200 crore has been earmarked for land acquisition. With administrative sanctions now issued, officials are expected to begin the land acquisition process shortly.
The proposed flyover is expected to reduce traffic pressure on key junctions including Balanagar, Kukatpally, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) and Nizampet.
Relief for commuters from industrial suburbs
Motorists travelling from Gajularamaram, Shapur Nagar, Jeedimetla and Chintal currently pass through congested stretches at Balanagar Y Junction, Kukatpally, JNTU, Nizampet and Hyder Nagar to reach Miyapur, Lingampally and Patancheru.
Officials said commuters will be able to travel through Jagadgirigutta and reach Allwyn Colony without major traffic signals once the flyover is completed. The project is also expected to improve traffic flow in Kukatpally and adjoining areas.
