Hyderabad Metro transports organs for emergency treatment

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Metro Rail authorities created a green channel to transport a heart and lungs for emergency medical treatment.
The organs were transported from CARE Hospitals in Gachibowli to KIMS Hospitals in Secunderabad.
Organs reach KIMS in just 25 minutes
Doctors successfully transported the heart and lungs to KIMS, 14 km away, in just 25 minutes with support from the Metro authorities.
Officials said Hyderabad Metro would continue to support emergency healthcare initiatives and assist in life-saving medical operations.
Hyderabad Metro has previously facilitated green corridors for organ transport. L&T Metro Rail’s official website says such operations have been used to transport hearts and lungs for critical transplant procedures.
