Hyderabad’s Daily Commute Gets Easier With Metro–rtc Common Pass

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government on Friday launched a common pass for Hyderabad Metro and Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) city buses.

The pass lets commuters use both public transport services with a single pass. It aims to make daily travel easier and improve first- and last-mile connectivity.

The pass covers Hyderabad Metro services and TGSRTC city buses operating within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) limits. However, it does not cover Pushpak bus services. Commuters can buy the common pass at all Hyderabad Metro stations.

Daily and monthly passes have separate components

The one-day Metro–RTC common pass costs ₹400. It includes ₹300 for Metro travel and ₹100 for RTC bus services.

Meanwhile, the monthly common pass costs ₹8,500. It includes ₹7,000 for Metro travel and ₹1,500 for RTC services. Commuters also need to pay a refundable security deposit of ₹100 for the card.

The integrated pass will help commuters who take an RTC bus to a Metro station before continuing their journey by Metro. Thus, the system brings both services under one common ticketing arrangement.

MeeTicket app offers digital bus tickets

Along with the common pass, TGSRTC launched the MeeTicket mobile application. Passengers can use the app to buy bus tickets and choose their boarding and destination points.

The app also supports digital payments and provides tickets with dynamic QR codes. In addition, TGSRTC introduced a digital weekly bus pass for ₹600 through the app.

Passengers can buy and renew the weekly pass through the app without visiting a ticket counter.

The launch follows directions issued by Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju in September. He had directed officials to introduce daily and monthly joint passes for Metro and RTC commuters.

Earlier, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) said Metro and RTC officials had finalised the technical arrangements for the new system.
