Nallagandla residents seek Raidurg–Lingampally metro corridor

Raidurg to Lingampally Metro Corridor

HYDERABAD: The Mana Nallagandla Welfare Association(MNWA) has written to the Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited seeking a connecting metro rail corridor from Raidurg Metro Station to the Lingampally Multi-Modal Interchange Hub via Wipro Circle, Gopanpally and Nallagandla, and separately requested that a Community Mourning and Last Respects Facility be included as an amenity under the CURE Bill.

In a letter the association, representing families, working professionals and residents of Nallagandla and Gopanpally, expressed appreciation to the Government of Telangana for accelerating the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase 2 expansion project, specifically the Miyapur-to-Patancheru line (Red Line Corridor VII) and the Raidurg-to-Kokapet Neopolis line (Blue Line Corridor V).

The association said a critical transit gap exists between these two progressing corridors, leaving a large geographic loop disconnected and stranding thousands of daily commuters and residents. It requested the State Planning Board and relevant urban transit authorities to evaluate a connecting transit corridor from Raidurg Metro Station to the Lingampally Interchange Hub via Wipro Circle, Gopanpally and Nallagandla.

The letter was signed by P. Jalendar Reddy, President, Mana Nallagandla Welfare Association. Meanwhile, B. Ajay, Vice President, MNWA, said the association has been continuously working and fighting for better infrastructure and human welfare in the area, and that it recently met higher officials and submitted letters on the metro rail connectivity from the US Consulate to Lingampally and the mourning facility to be included in the CURE Bill. He said the association will continue to take up these issues with the concerned authorities.
