Hyderabad Metro faces disruptions on Miyapur–LB Nagar route

Hyderabad: Hyderabad metro services on the Miyapur to LB Nagar corridor were temporarily halted today, on May 1, 2025, due to a technical glitch, causing inconvenience to passengers. Trains were stranded near Bharat Nagar Metro Station for about 20 minutes while officials worked to resolve the issue.
As of now, the Hyderabad Metro authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the disruption.
This is not the first time metro services have been affected by technical issues. Earlier this year, on January 29, 2025, services on the Blue Line between Nagole and Raidurg were delayed due to a signaling problem.
The disruption began around 7 a.m. and caused delays of up to 15 minutes at various stations, including Secunderabad, which was temporarily shut down. Service was eventually restored, but trains continued to run at a slower pace.
Another incident occurred on November 4, 2024, when a technical malfunction halted services between Nagole and Raidurg, and LB Nagar to Miyapur. A malfunction with the doors on the Nagole to Raidurg train left passengers stranded at Begumpet Metro Station for nearly 15 minutes.
In response to growing demand, L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad (L&TMRHL) extended metro service hours from April 1, 2025. The last train now departs from terminal stations at 11:45 p.m., 45 minutes later than before, from Monday to Friday.
On Sundays, the first train starts at 7:00 a.m. The company has also expanded its first and last-mile connectivity, increasing the number of feeder vehicles to 200, catering to over 16,000 daily commuters.
