Hyderabad mother poisons infant son, kills herself
HYDERABAD: A 27-year-old woman allegedly poisoned her 10 month old son and died by suicide following family disputes at Meerpet, police said.
Marital disputes preceded incident
Sushma had married Yashwant Reddy, a chartered accountant, four years ago. Family members said the couple had been facing differences for the past few days.
Mother found dead with infant
On the day of the incident, Sushma went to her mother Lalitha’s house for shopping for a function. Police said she went into another room, poisoned her son Yashwardhan Reddy, and later took her own life.
Yashwant Reddy returned home around 9.30 pm after work and found the bedroom door locked from inside. After forcing it open, he found his wife and son dead and alerted the police.
Grandmother attempts suicide
Unable to bear the deaths of her daughter and grandson, Lalitha allegedly attempted suicide, police said.
Police reached the spot, registered a case and are conducting an inquiry.
