Hyderabad Mayor, Vijayalakshmi directs asset digitalisation of GHMC
Hyderabad: Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi has directed the officials to digitize the assets related to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). The Hyderabad Mayor along with the Estate Additional Commissioner reviewed the situation at Mayors’ chamber in city on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor ordered the officials to take measures to increase the sources of income through the assets that are in the limits of GHMC.
Mayor further enquired about the open plots of GHMC, and on taking steps to protect them from encroachment. It was further ordered to categorise the properties and give a updated note to her. Further details were also sought on whether the monthly rent is being collected properly and whether properties are being warned off their end of lease period and other such things.
Mayor sought details of all the assets
Further, the Mayor also sought the details of community halls in the limits of Greater Hyderabad and details on how these halls are being utilised. She directed the officials to provide the details of the model market and municipal market rooms and their usage as well.
All the details were sought by the Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi in order to complete the comprehensive digitization process of all the details of various types of assets related to GHMC.
The mayor ordered the officers to prepare all the lease details and property details and present them with a complete report till the next meeting.
Meanwhile, the GHMC has got a new commissioner to take charge. As of now, K Amrapali has been appointed as the GHMC commissioner. Amrapali Kata, IAS is a 2010 batch UPSC candidate and she has been appointed as Commissioner of GHMC, who previously worked as a Joint Metropolitan Commissioner of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA). Before Amrapali, Ronald Ross was serving as the Commissioner of GHMC, as earlier reported by the Hyderabad Mail.
