Hyderabad: Man killed in lorry-scooty crash at ORR Keesara Exit Gate
Hyderabad: A man died after being hit by a speeding lorry while traveling on a scooty at the ORR Keesara Exit Gate in Hyderabad on Wednesday evening, November 20, 2024.
The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old V. Yelendra, an electrician.
According to reports, Yelendra was knocked off his scooty when the lorry struck him, causing him to fall onto the road and sustain severe injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in a 108 ambulance, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The police have registered a case against the lorry driver, who has been identified as Lakshman (25), for rash and negligent driving.
In another incident on August 17, 2024, a 28-year-old man named Kadari Shankar, a resident of Boduppal, lost his life in Vanasthalipuram. Shankar was traveling towards Bairamalguda when his scooter skidded, causing him to fall and sustain severe injuries to his head and body. Local residents witnessed the accident and immediately alerted the police, who rushed Shankar to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save him, Shankar succumbed to his injuries about an hour later, according to Vanasthalipuram police. A case has been filed, and an investigation is ongoing.
Earlier in August, a tragic incident occurred at the Habsiguda Signal in Tarnaka, Hyderabad, where 16-year-old Ranga Sathvika, a student at Gowtham Model School, lost her life. Sathvika was killed instantly when a high-speed tipper lorry collided with the auto she was in, pushing it into a stationary RTC bus. The auto driver, Yellaiah, sustained severe injuries and was taken to a private hospital.
On Saturday, August 3, 2024, another accident occurred in Ibrahim Bagh under the Golconda Police Station limits, resulting in the death of a 7-year-old boy. His parents were injured after their bike was struck by a car driven by an intoxicated driver.
