Last week, a 34-year-old man was run over by an oncoming RTC bus near IDPL in Balanagar. The deceased was identified as Bosubabu, a resident of Roda Mistry Nagar in Shapurnagar.
Bosubabu died in a freak road accident while trying to evade traffic police during a routine police checking. It is reported that the victim, in an attempt to avoid a traffic challan, lost control of his bike, fell on the road and was crushed by the RTC bus.
The incident led to a massive protest and huge traffic jam on the busy road as locals blamed the traffic police constable for the motorist’s death. The police had to use mild force to disperse the angry protesters and clear the traffic jam in the area.
After examining the CCTV footage, Gunasekhar, Medchal zone DCP (traffic) told an online news portal that a police constable did not try to physically catch the motorist. The cop only asked him to stop. The motorist skidded while trying to evade the traffic police and came under the wheels of an oncoming RTC bus.
