Vanasthalipuram: Ex-husband kills pregnant woman

HYDERABAD: A software engineer was murdered in Vanasthalipuram on Wednesday afternoon, allegedly by her former husband who was upset over her remarriage.
Accused storms house with knives and petrol
The incident took place in Green City Colony in Vanasthalipuram. Sunitha, 30, was living there after legally divorcing Mahesh and marrying another man.
Police said Mahesh, who works as a software engineer abroad, could not accept her remarriage. He allegedly entered her house armed with two knives and a can of petrol.
He threatened to pour petrol and set anyone ablaze if they intervened.
Victim attacked repeatedly, dies on the spot
Mahesh allegedly stabbed Sunitha indiscriminately. Even after she collapsed, he continued the assault and struck her on the head with a flower pot, police said.
Sunitha suffered severe bleeding and died on the spot.
On receiving information, Vanasthalipuram police rushed to the scene, inspected the spot and took Mahesh into custody. The body was shifted to hospital for post-mortem.
The daylight murder in a residential colony triggered panic among locals.
