Mahesh dies after bail in Amulya Sri case
HYDERABAD: A key accused in short-film actor Amulya Sri’s suicide case, Mahesh died by suicide at his house in Singareni Colony, days after he was released from jail on bail.
Mahesh allegedly hanged himself at his residence. His family members noticed him and informed the police.
Police shifted the body to Osmania Hospital for postmortem examination.
Mahesh was arrested in Amulya Sri case
Police had arrested Mahesh in connection with Amulya Sri’s suicide case and sent him to Chanchalguda jail. He was recently released on bail following a court order.
Police examine threats and case-related pressure
Police registered a case of suspicious death following Mahesh’s death and collected evidence at the scene with the help of a clues team.
Investigators are analysing Mahesh’s mobile phone and call logs. They are also examining whether anyone threatened him after his release on bail.
Police are further investigating whether fear over the ongoing case inquiry could have led Mahesh to take the extreme step.
