LB Nagar traffic snarls worsen ahead of Sankranti

HYDERABAD: Commuters heading towards LB Nagar should brace for heavy congestion over the next two days as festival travel peaks ahead of Sankranti, police said.
Festival rush chokes arterial junctions
Large crowds are converging on LB Nagar and Dilsukhnagar as travellers leave the city for the festival. A surge in buses operated by the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation along with private buses, cars and other vehicles has led to bumper-to-bumper traffic at key junctions.
Police advisories as vehicles crawl
Traffic police have stepped up regulation, but vehicle movement remains slow, particularly for passengers bound for Vijayawada who must board buses from this stretch. Officials expect similar conditions to persist for another two days.
Motorists using private vehicles have been advised to avoid the LB Nagar corridor and take the Outer Ring Road to reduce delays.
