Madhuranagar tenant’s horror: Camera found in bathroom, owner arrested

HYDERABAD: A house owner was arrested and remanded to judicial custody for allegedly installing a hidden camera inside the bathroom of his rented property in Jawahar Nagar, Yousufguda. The Madhuranagar police are currently searching for an electrician who is believed to be involved in the incident.
The incident was reported on October 13, when the tenant discovered a device concealed within a bulb holder in the washroom. The tenant couple has been residing in the house owned by Ashok Yadav.
According to the complaint filed by the couple at Madhuranagar police station of Hyderabad commissionerate, the plot began unfolding on October 4. The tenant informed Yadav that the bathroom bulb was not working. That same day, while she was at her office, Yadav and an electrician identified only as Chintu visited the couple’s residence to carry out the repair.
The installation remained undiscovered for over a week. On October 13, the husband noticed a screw falling from the bulb holder, prompting the couple to inspect it and discover a hidden camera inside the fixture.
The couple immediately confronted the house owner, Ashok Yadav. Yadav arrived at their home, took the bulb holder assembly, and left. He later returned with the holder, which the complainant stated appeared to have been tampered with and covered with plaster.
Landlord’s “Settle the Matter” plea after secret camera found
Further, Yadav reportedly told the couple that the device was not working and asked them to verify it themselves. When the complainant threatened to approach the police, Yadav allegedly tried to dissuade her, promising to bring the electrician, Chintu, to ‘settle the matter’ privately.
According to the complaint, on October 14, when asked about the electrician, Yadav reportedly stated, “When he comes out of jail, the electrician will blackmail you, it’s up to you.” The complainant reported that this caused them mental distress and led them to suspect a possible conspiracy between the owner and the electrician.
Based on the detailed complaint filed by the victim at the Madhuranagar police station, a case was registered. The police acted swiftly and arrested the house owner, Ashok Yadav. He was produced before the court, which sent him to judicial remand.
Meanwhile the electrician, Chintu, remains at large. A manhunt is underway to apprehend him. Police are further investigating the motive behind the installation. They are also examining if the accused have targeted other tenants in the past.
