Worm appears in Chicken biryani at Hyderabad’s famous Kukatpally restaurant
Kukatpally: In a bizarre incident, a Hyderabadi had to encounter a worm in their chicken Biryani that he allegedly ordered from a Mehfil Biryani restaurant in Kukatpally via food ordering mobile application, Swiggy.
The consumer took the photo to the internet and shared it on the social media platform. In an X post, the user said, “Mehfil biryani, Kukatpally Bugs in chicken pieces @cfs_telangana This is the response from @Swiggy (Refund of 64rs for a bill of 318rs : Order id – 178009783111586) Please stop ordering from Mehfil kukatpally.” The post within no time has garnered over 1000 reposts and has been viewed by over 86.4k people.

The user further added that he did not even get a decent refund initially after he complained to the customer care in Swiggy. Initially he was offered a refund of Rs.64 for a bill of Rs.318 and later it is said that he was given a full refund, as he mentioned in his update. Further, the user got a response from Swiggy on X, which said that “That’s certainly not the kind of experience we had in store for you, Sai. Please allow us some time.” Meanwhile, the user said that he had raised a complaint yesterday, which is on Saturday and as his issue is not resolved, he took to social media on Sunday.
Further, the user also mentioned on X that he is unable to complain via the FSSAI website, as it despite filling all the details it asks to do it again.
In recent times, there has been a series of rides by the Commissioner of food safety in Telangana. And several hotels and restaurants, including high profile and branded restaurants have been found to be violating the food safety norms.
In a response, the restaurant and hotel associations has also promised to maintain hygine and take precautions as per the FSSAI guidelines, however, that still seems to be a distant dream, as the consumer keeps coming up with complaints of unhygienic foods that are being served at restaurants.
