Hyderabad residents donate 32 CCTV cameras

HYDERABAD: Residents of Karanbagh Colony in Saidabad donated 32 CCTV cameras to Hyderabad City Police under the ‘Empowering Your Everyday Safety (EYES)’ and ‘Donate a Camera’ initiatives.

The cameras were handed over at the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre on Monday.

Sajjanar seeks public, corporate participation

Karanbagh Colony Association president Mailadri Srinivas and secretary Sudarshan Gaddam led a delegation that presented the cameras to Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar, IPS.

Speaking on the occasion, Sajjanar said CCTV cameras act as “force multipliers” in crime control. “One CCTV camera is equal to 100 police personnel. They play a key role in detecting offenders and collecting evidence,” he said.

He called upon citizens and corporate firms to partner with the police in strengthening city security. He urged companies to donate more CCTV cameras voluntarily under their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives to support the city’s surveillance network.

Senior police officers attend programme

Charminar Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police Khare Kiran Prabhakar, IPS, SMIT Deputy Commissioner of Police C H Rupesh, IPS, IT Cell Inspector Ramesh, Saidabad Assistant Commissioner of Police S Venkat Reddy and Station House Officer Chandramohan attended the programme.

Colony members G Ravichandra Yadav, N Venugopal Rao and S Tirumurthulu were also present.
