Telangana government Plans New IT Clusters in Ranga Reddy

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has prepared plans to expand the IT corridor in the capital.
Government plans new IT clusters on public land
The Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) is preparing to facilitate the establishment of more IT companies and clusters on government land in Serilingampally, Gandipet and Rajendranagar mandals of Ranga Reddy district.
Officials took the decision after TSIIC land near Gachibowli was auctioned recently for more than ₹170 crore per acre.
Record tampering flagged in government land disputes
Authorities found that some people altered records to claim ownership of government land.
Around Hyderabad, nearly 60 per cent of villages and agricultural lands were granted as donations during the rule of the Nizam. As many of these lands had no heirs and revenue officials later formalised the records, about 90 per cent of them became government property.
However, some individuals have approached courts by creating documents claiming that they received these lands as donations from descendants of the Nizam and that they were issued general power of attorney (GPA).
Disputes continue in several villages
Disputes are ongoing over about 180 acres of government land in three villages of Serilingampally mandal.
Private individuals have also created disputes over around 200 acres in four villages of Gandipet mandal.
Digital surveys to detect encroachments
Officials are conducting digital surveys to protect government lands and lakes from encroachers.
New equipment is being deployed to identify the extent of encroachments accurately.
