Interstate ganja racket busted in Hyderabad; 23 kg seized, four held
HYDERABAD: The Charminar Zone Task Force, in coordination with Abids police station, arrested four people, including a juvenile, and seized 23 kg of dry ganja near Haj House in Nampally on July 2. Police also recovered two mobile phones and ₹7,000 in cash. The seized contraband is valued at about ₹12 lakh.
Accused allegedly sourced ganja from Araku region
Police said the accused, all natives of Parbhani district in Maharashtra, had allegedly been transporting ganja from the agency areas of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha to Maharashtra for the past six months.
According to the investigation, the contraband was procured from a supplier in the Araku region and transported through Hyderabad before being delivered to receivers in Maharashtra.
Accused intercepted while waiting for bus
Police said the accused arrived in Hyderabad from Visakhapatnam by train and were waiting to board a private bus to Maharashtra when the Task Force intercepted them near Haj House.
During the operation, officers seized 23 kg of dry ganja, two mobile phones and ₹7,000 in cash.

Probe on to trace supplier and receivers
Police said efforts are under way to trace the alleged supplier and the intended receivers identified during the investigation.
The operation was carried out by the Charminar Zone Task Force in coordination with personnel from Abids police station under the supervision of the Inspector of Police, Charminar Zone Task Force. Police said appropriate legal action has been initiated in accordance with law.
