Hyderabad Inaugurates Colours Theme Park At Mallapur

Hyderabad: In yet another addition to the world-class amenities of Hyderabad, the mayor of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Gadwal Vijayalakshmi inaugurated the new Colours Theme Park on Saturday.

This one-of-a-kind destination at Mallapur was built on a sprawling over 2 acres of land at a cost of Rs. 2.94 crore. The park offers a thrilling escape for families with facilities like a water fountain, play court, selfie walls and children’s playground.

Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor urged the citizens to explore the recreational park and at the same time appealed to them to keep the place clean and green. Hailing it as a must-visit destination for health-conscious people, she said the GHMC will carry out more development works to strengthen the city infrastructure.

Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Shobhan Reddy, who attended the inauguration ceremony, described the theme park as a great milestone for the civic body.

A few days ago, Mayor Vijayalakshmi laid the foundation for a model graveyard. The cemetery is being developed at Chiluka Nagar, Uppal Circle with an estimated cost of Rs 2 crore.

Meanwhile, the much hyped Japanese theme park located in the AS Rao nagar of the Kapra circle in Hyderabad remains closed even three years after it was inaugurated in 2021.

The park which is spanned across 1.2 acres of lung space in the East Maruthi Nagar is a combination of greenery and japanese artistry. However, residents are unable to enjoy this lung space, as it remains closed for a long time now.

Urban BioDiversity Wing manager from the Kapra circle, S Lokesh Kumar informed that the park remains closed as certain works in the park were pending. He added that “The park remains closed as certain pending works are going on. We are trying to finish them and
