Three held in Hyderabad for smuggling Goa liquor, 34 bottles seized

HYDERABAD: Prohibition and Excise Department officials arrested three persons for transporting illegal liquor during a routine vehicle check on Pahadishareef road on March 18.
Officials seized 34 bottles of non-duty paid alcohol from the accused. The liquor was being transported from Goa to Hyderabad, they said.
The arrested persons were identified as Jani, Giri and Rakesh, all natives of Nalgonda. According to officials, the trio planned to sell the liquor at higher prices to earn profits.
A case has been booked at the Meerpet Prohibition and Excise Station, and further investigation is under way.
