Hyderabad busts adulterated coconut powder racket

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad City Police Task Force busted an illegal coconut powder manufacturing unit in Goshamahal and arrested one person, identified as Nakoul Marotiyaa.
Police said the unit was operating without a valid Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) licence and was involved in producing adulterated coconut powder.
Adulterated stock seized during Task Force operation
Officials seized 8,300 kg of adulterated coconut powder during the raid. The total value of the confiscated material is estimated at ₹21 lakh.
Police also confiscated packing and weighing machines used at the facility.
Fake branding, missing batch and expiry details found
According to officials, the products were sold under fake branding and lacked mandatory batch numbers and expiry details.
A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Food Safety and Standards Act. Further investigation is underway.
