Cyberabad police issue traffic diversions at IIIT Junction for flyover works for one year

HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad Police issued a traffic advisory announcing major diversions and regulations at IIIT Junction, effective April 8, 2026, due to the start of multi-level flyover and underpass construction. The project will last about one year, and officials will implement alternate routes to reduce congestion and maintain traffic flow in the area.
The Office of the Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, issued the advisory, which takes effect on April 8, 2026, and will remain until construction is complete. The police encourage commuters, especially IT employees, to plan ahead and cooperate with traffic police.
From 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily, police will enforce three major traffic diversions at IIIT Junction. Police will divert commuters traveling from Gachibowli Junction to Lingampally via IIIT Junction, Gachibowli Stadium, and HCU Gate No. 2 at IIIT Junction toward Wipro Junction, then through Gowlidoddi, Gopanpally Junction, and Nallagandla to reach Lingampally.
Police will divert traffic from Financial District, Gopanpally Thanda, Gowlidoddi, Q-city, and Wipro Junction toward IIIT Junction at Wipro Junction to Nanakramguda Rotary-2, then left onto the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to Gachibowli Junction.
Police will divert traffic from Lingampally to Gachibowli, Kothaguda, and Mehdipatnam via HCU, Masijidbanda T Junction, Gachibowli Stadium, and DLF Junction at SMR/HCU Bus Depot Junction through Mazidbanda and Sriramnagar to Botanical Junction, then right toward Udipi Hotel, make a U-turn, and proceed via ZPHS Gachibowli to Gachibowli Junction. Police urge commuters to follow these diversions and plan accordingly to avoid congestion.
IIIT Junction serves as a key point in Cyberabad’s IT corridor, linking Gachibowli, Lingampally, Financial District, and Wipro Junction, which are densely populated with tech parks, residences, and educational institutions. Officials expect significant congestion throughout the year-long construction period.
Police urge IT employees and daily commuters to use alternate routes for a safer and more efficient commute. The advisory states that flyover construction “may continue for at least one year,” so police advise commuters to allow extra travel time or consider rerouting.
The Cyberabad Police request the public to plan ahead and cooperate fully with traffic personnel who are managing the diversions to ensure smooth traffic flow.
“We request regular commuters, including IT employees, to take alternate routes for a safer commute. We also ask the general public to plan accordingly and cooperate with Cyberabad Traffic Police to ensure free flow of traffic,” the advisory stated.
Police advise commuters to avoid IIIT Junction during peak hours (8 AM to 9 PM) if possible, use the designated alternative routes, allow extra travel time during rush hours, and follow real-time updates on Cyberabad Police’s official social media channels.
With construction expected to last a year, patience and planning are essential. The Cyberabad Police assure that they will station traffic personnel at all key diversion points to assist commuters and minimize disruption.
