HYDERABAD: HYDRAA authorities protected a 968 square yard park in Balanagar after residents complained of an alleged encroachment attempt using forged documents.

The layout, developed in 1983 over 7.12 acres with approval from the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority, included the park as a designated open space.

Complaint flags alleged attempt using forged documents

Residents alleged that Abdul Rahman alias Gopal attempted to encroach upon the park using forged documents and submitted a complaint through HYDRAA Prajavani.

HYDRAA officials conducted a field inquiry and confirmed that the land is earmarked as a park. They also noted that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation had already constructed a compound wall and installed a gate.

Encroachment materials removed; boards installed

Officials said the accused had obtained building permissions in 2019 using alleged forged documents and was preparing for encroachment.

Cases were filed against the encroachers by GHMC officials along with society representatives.

HYDRAA removed materials placed on the site and installed boards marking the land as a park.
