Why did a Hyderabad man attack his wife on their anniversary?
HYDERABAD: A 42-year-old plumber was taken into custody by Panjagutta police for allegedly attacking his wife after an argument over not cooking chicken on their wedding anniversary.
According to Panjagutta police, Pratap, a resident of BS Maktha, lives with his wife, Deepika.
Wife suffers head injury in attack
The couple celebrated their wedding anniversary on June 26. Police said Pratap returned home drunk that night. When Deepika served him dinner, he allegedly questioned why she had not cooked chicken, his favourite dish, for the occasion.
The argument escalated, following which Pratap allegedly hit her on the head with a wooden stick lying nearby. Local residents rushed to the house and shifted Deepika to hospital.
After recovering, Deepika lodged a complaint with Panjagutta police. Acting on the complaint, police took Pratap into custody on Thursday.
