HYDERABAD: Home sales across India’s top nine cities, including Hyderabad, decline 13 per cent year-on-year to 98,761 units in the January–March quarter of this year.

This is the first time in 18 quarters that quarterly sales fall below one lakh units. Sales stood at 1,13,602 units in the same period last year and 1,05,527 units in the previous quarter.

A property consultancy said the West Asia crisis impacted buyer sentiment. Reduced new supply also contributed to the decline.

Except for Delhi National Capital Region and Bengaluru, all major cities report lower sales.
