Hyderabad Heroes: Two men chase down thief, earn appreciation

Hyderabad: In a commendable act of bravery and civic responsibility, two Hyderabad citizens, K. Shiva, and A. Teja, have emerged as local heroes after successfully catching red-handedly a thief who snatched a gold chain from a young woman.

On October 8, 2024, near Saradi Studios, a 20-year-old woman was on her way to work when she became the victim of a theft. The assailant, identified as 22-year-old Nitin from Tamil Nadu, violently yanked the chain from her neck, leaving her shaken and distraught.

Witnessing the crime unfold, K. Shiva and A. Teja sprang into action. Without hesitation, the two men chased after the thief, displaying remarkable courage and determination. After a relentless chase, they managed to catch Nitin and promptly escorted him to the Madhura Nagar police station, ensuring that he faced justice for his actions.

The Madhura Nagar Police swiftly booked a case against the thief, who is now behind bars. In recognition of their heroic efforts, Vijay Kumar, DCP, IPS, West Zone, awarded Shiva and Teja with certificates of appreciation for their quick thinking and commitment to community safety.

At the ceremony, Additional DCP Hanumanthu Rao and Madhura Nagar Inspector Srinivas praised the duo for their responsible citizenship. “Their actions exemplify what it means to be a hero in our community,” said DCP Vijay Kumar.

Shiva and Teja’s courage is a powerful reminder that regular people can significantly impact the battle against crime. Their experience resonates across Hyderabad, inspiring others to stand against injustice and help create a safer city.
