Hyderabad H-NEW deports Ugandan national for visa overstay

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) has deported a 27 year old Ugandan national for overstaying in India after the expiry of her tourist visa and for alleged links with drug peddlers in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Apprehended in Tolichowki
Acting on credible information, H-NEW apprehended Juliana Victor Nabitaka within the limits of Tolichowki Police Station. Officials said she failed to produce valid travel documents during verification.
She had entered India on February 12, 2024, on a tourist visa that expired on January 18, 2025. After the expiry, she continued to stay in the country illegally, police said.
Deportation after due process
Following due procedure, H-NEW coordinated with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) Hyderabad, obtained an exit permit and blacklisted her from re-entering India.
She was escorted and deported to the Republic of Uganda from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on December 21, 2025, officials said, adding that the action was taken to prevent activities detrimental to national security.
H-NEW appealed to the public to stay away from drugs and report information related to drug abuse on 8712661601 to help achieve a drug-free Hyderabad.
