Hyderabad approves greenfield road-2 alignment

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has finalised the alignment for Greenfield Radial Road-2. The road will stretch 51.4 km with a proposed width of 100 metres.
The State government has approved final changes to the proposal under the HMDA Master Plan 2030. The road will connect the Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Kotwalguda to the Regional Ring Road (RRR) near Chityal in Pargi.
Alignment passes through key mandals and villages
The project will pass through villages in Shamshabad, Shabad, Kondurg, Chowdarygudem, Moinabad mandals in Rangareddy district and Pargi mandal in Vikarabad district. About 20 villages across six mandals are likely to be affected.
The alignment includes Kotwalguda, Shamshabad, Himayathnagar, Narkhuda, Sultanpalli, Kacharam, Rayannaguda, Malkaram, Ramajipet, Solipet, Hayathabad, Peddaved, Damarlapalli, Machanpalli, Nagarakunta, Bongiripalli, Chukkampet, Mutpur, Ummethyal, Tummalapalli, Yenkepalli, Yabajiguda, Rapolu and Chityal.
Works to construct a junction linking the new road with the ORR at Kotwalguda will begin soon.
Plan part of peri-urban connectivity push
The project is part of the State’s plan to develop greenfield radial roads in the peri-urban region between the ORR and RRR. The proposal was first announced six months ago.
