Hyderabad clears Gopanpally radial road project

HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation standing committee has approved a long-pending radial road project in the IT corridor, clearing works worth ₹37 crore.
The proposed road will connect Gopanpally to the service road of the Nehru Outer Ring Road (ORR), aiming to ease traffic congestion in the fast-growing technology hub.
Direct connectivity to ORR planned
Despite rapid expansion in the IT corridor, infrastructure development has lagged, leading to severe traffic issues. Though a flyover has been built at Gopanpally junction, commuters heading towards ORR via Vattinagulapalle currently travel an additional 6–8 km.
The new radial road is expected to provide a direct route and reduce travel time significantly.
Relief for IT employees in surrounding areas
Thousands of IT employees from Nallagandla, Tellapur, Serilingampally, Majidbanda and Lingampally face daily commuting challenges while accessing the ORR.
Officials said the new road will offer a shorter and more efficient route, reducing congestion across key stretches in the corridor.
