Four held for manufacturing substandard ginger-garlic paste in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Commissioner’s Task Force, Shamshabad Zone, along with the Pahadishareef police, arrested four persons for allegedly manufacturing substandard ginger-garlic paste in unhygienic conditions at Jalpally.
The accused operated from SK Royal Enterprises and Shahi Gold Companies at H No. 11-48/1/A/1, Wadia Mustafa Nagar. During the raid, the team seized products and raw materials worth ₹10 lakh.
Unit lacked licence, flouted FSSAI norms
Police identified Abdul Sattar, 45, as the main accused. He allegedly ran the unit with three associates. They used low-quality ingredients and synthetic colours to prepare the paste. Moreover, they did not have a valid licence. They also failed to comply with Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) guidelines.
The accused allegedly supplied the products to local shops. As a result, they put public health at risk.
Acting on a tip-off, the Task Force and Pahadishareef police raided the premises and arrested Abdul Sattar, Mohd Israil, 21, Mohd Iftekhar, 18, and Noor Nabi, 19. All four are residents of Jalpally in Balapur.
Large quantities of raw materials recovered
During the operation, the team seized 340 kg of loose paste and 12 tubs weighing 50 kg each. In addition, they recovered 20 bags of garlic weighing 25 kg each and five bags of salt weighing 50 kg each. Police also found synthetic food colours, citric acid, turmeric, product labels, packing materials, and machinery, including grinding and mixing units.
Pahadishareef police registered a case as Crime No. 90/2026 under Sections 318(4), 275 and 223 read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Police Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the Task Force Shamshabad team and the Pahadishareef police. They worked under the supervision of Muhammad Iqbal Siddiqui, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rajendranagar and Shamshabad Zones.
Public advisory
Police urged citizens to report food adulteration. They asked the public to dial 100 or contact Hyderabad City Police. Authorities will keep the identity of informants confidential.
