Hyderabad Ghmc Offers 5% Rebate On Property Tax For Early Payments In April 2025

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has introduced a 5% rebate on property tax for the financial year 2025-26, available to taxpayers who pay their full property tax dues before April 30, 2025. This initiative is part of the Early Bird Scheme aimed at encouraging timely payment of property tax.

In accordance with the amendment to the GHMC Act 1955, published in Gazette Notification No. 15 of 2013, Section 264(2) has been updated. The new sub-section (3) provides that a 5% rebate will be granted for payments made before the end of April, regardless of whether the property tax bill or demand notice has been issued.

The scheme is valid for the financial year 2025-26, starting from April 1, 2025, and does not apply to arrears from previous years.

Taxpayers can make payments via the GHMC’s official website, MeeSeva centers, or designated bank branches.

This year, the GHMC has set a new record by collecting over Rs 2,012.36 crore in property taxes for the financial year 2024-25, as of March 31, 2025. This marks the highest-ever collection in the history of the civic body.

Taxpayers are encouraged to take advantage of the Early Bird Scheme and avail the 5% rebate by paying their property taxes by April 30, 2025.
