HYDERABAD: Shortage of commercial LPG cylinders has begun affecting hotels across Telangana, particularly in Hyderabad. Many eateries have reduced menu items or raised prices, while some have shut operations over the past two days.
IT corridor hotels suspend tea, coffee services
Hotels in the Hyderabad Information Technology corridor said they would temporarily stop serving tea and coffee. The decision was announced by the local hotels association amid uncertainty over gas supply.
The association said items that take longer to cook or require more oil including vada, dosa, puri and chapati will also be unavailable for now.
Gas shortage threatens closures of hotels, hostels and messes
From roadside tiffin stalls to star hotels, most kitchens depend entirely on gas cylinders for cooking. Hotel operators said the cylinders currently available with them would last only one or two days.
If supply does not resume soon, many establishments, including large hotels, hostels and messes, may have no option but to shut temporarily.
