Hyderabad youth lands in trouble over Gandhi Hospital reel

HYDERABAD: A Hayathnagar youth is being questioned after a social media reel allegedly mocking patient care at Gandhi Hospital went viral.
According to police, Varun had admitted his grandfather to Gandhi Hospital for treatment. He later uploaded a reel claiming that doctors were not checking his grandfather’s blood pressure and joking that he was taking away a blood pressure monitor from the hospital.
The video gained traction on social media, following which Gandhi Hospital authorities lodged a complaint with Chilkalguda police, alleging that the reel defamed the hospital. Police have taken Varun into custody for questioning.
Youth apologises, says reel was made for fun
In another reel recorded inside the Gandhi Hospital premises, Varun said doctors at the hospital had earlier saved his aunt’s life when she was not attended to at a private hospital. He said he was unaware that making such a reel could amount to an offence and appealed to others not to create similar misleading content.
Varun also apologised to the hospital authorities for his actions.
Inspector Valishetty Ramakrishna said further action would be taken after obtaining legal advice.
