Five-year-old girl dies after getting stuck in lift at Gachibowli PG hostel
HYDERABAD: A five-year-old girl died after allegedly getting stuck in a grilled lift at a women’s paying guest hostel in Gowlidoddi under the limits of Gachibowli police station on Tuesday afternoon.
Police identified the deceased as Bistu Ghosh, 5, a native of Jharkhand, who had been living with her grandparents at Mahi Women PG in Gowlidoddi. Her grandparents have reportedly been working as chefs at the hostel for the past seven years.
According to police, the child got stuck in the lift while it was moving between floors. Patrol staff rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident.
During the preliminary inquiry, police suspected that the girl’s clothes got caught in the grilled lift while it was in motion, causing severe head injuries. She suffered heavy bleeding and died on the spot, police said.
A case is being registered and the body is being shifted for postmortem examination. Further investigation is underway.
