Telangana plans Future City master plan by 2047

HYDERABAD: Preparations are under way to draft a comprehensive master plan for the government’s proposed Future City, with a target year of 2047. The Future City Development Authority (FCDA) has invited consultants for the project, and six national and international firms have submitted bids.
The bidders include Meinhardt Singapore Private Limited, Surbana Jurong (Singapore), Lee Associates, Aecom, CBRE and other international consultants. Officials are expected to open the bids in the coming days and finalise a consultant this week. Work is likely to be assigned in the following week.
Government aims for world-class urban development model
Officials plan to develop the Future City as a world-class urban centre covering 765 sq km, including surrounding villages. The government intends to build a city with features surpassing the existing Hyderabad.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has focused on the project and initiated steps to attract global investments. The plan includes creating infrastructure that supports international firms to invest and operate from the city.
To achieve this, the government has decided to prepare a detailed and integrated master plan. The FCDA has accordingly invited tenders from national and international consultancy firms for designing the plan.
