Hyderabad fuel shortage shuts petrol pumps amid war fears

HYDERABAD: ‘No stock’ boards have appeared at several petrol pumps in the Old City and other parts of Hyderabad, indicating fuel shortages amid global supply concerns linked to the Iran–Israel conflict.
Dealers say 20–30% outlets temporarily shut across city areas
The shortage follows disruptions in crude oil availability due to tensions in West Asia. Oil companies have informed fuel dealers that supplies will be made only after advance payments, leading to stock constraints in some regions of India.
Several petrol pumps in Hyderabad have temporarily closed, while others display ‘no stock’ notices. The impact was earlier visible on liquefied petroleum gas supplies and is now extending to petrol and diesel.
Oil companies have already raised prices of premium petrol. Vehicle users said they are facing difficulty in commuting due to limited fuel availability.
Petrol pumps in both city and suburban areas have reported shortages. Representatives of the Telangana Petroleum Dealers Association said nearly 20–30% of fuel outlets in Hyderabad have shut temporarily due to supply constraints.
Dealers urged governments to intervene and resolve the issue, warning that prolonged shortages could worsen hardships for the public.
